Sulfur analyses are traditionally performed using Teflon  tubing to improve column inertness. Unfortunay, Teflon? tubing is gas permeable, difficult to pack with high efficiency, prone to shrinkage, and has poor thermal stability. Analyses of ppbv levels of sulfur compounds are now possible with the Rt?-XLSulfur column. The packing material for Rt?-XLSulfur columns is extensively deactivated for analysis of low ppbv levels of hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan. It is then treated to achieve effective separation of hydrocarbons from sulfur compounds. The interior wall and the end-fittings of the Rt?-XLSulfur column are Sulfinert? treated, making the column as inert as Teflon?. The extra care taken with this column ensures more accurate analyses of sulfur compounds.一般情況下分析含硫成份的化合物都要使用特氟隆（或聚四氟乙烯）柱管以改進(jìn)基化學(xué)惰性。但是Teflon管線具有氣體滲漏的問題，又有熱脹冷縮的問題，因此難以保證有很好的柱效與重現(xiàn)性，再者這種柱管的熱穩(wěn)定性比較差?，F(xiàn)在分析ppbV級(jí)含硫混合物可以使用特殊處理過的硫鈍化柱管（Rt-sulfur）來分析分離。Rt-XLSuflur型硫鈍化柱管具有對(duì)硫化物的*惰性。并且Rt-XLSuflur的填充材料在分析ppbV級(jí)硫化物和甲基硫醇時(shí)惰性?？梢詫N從其它含硫成份中分離出來。Rt-XLSuflur柱的內(nèi)壁經(jīng)過的Sulfinert工藝處理，其惰性與Teflon管相同。這種柱子在硫化物分析中是非常成功的。
